Cantina Antinori Progress

Back in 2005 I featured Studio Archea's project for Marchesi Antinori Winery's new cellars. Their design envisioned the winery embedded in the landscape near Florence, Italy. I was then (and now) smitten with the "landscraper"-esque design. In the course of some rummaging through my weekly page today, I decided to check on the status of the project after coming across it; I was curious to see if it made it from the drawing board to the job site. I'm glad to report it has; the winery is in the midst of construction. I'm not sure when the project will be completed (the info indicates 2010 but that's probably and old, optimistic milestone). Below are some rendering/construction images taken from Archea's web page. Not a lot to look at right now. I'm looking forward to seeing the undulating brick vaults in construction. That will be quite a sight.
