Lakefront by Segway

Trying to tap into the hidden potential that is the Segway Human Transporter, the Chicago Architecture Foundation is conducting tours of the lakefront parks and architecture on the vehicle. Up to eight people can partake on the 2.5-hour tour that includes training on the Segway, though the cost is a bit steep at $65 ($60 for CAF members).

Regardless of the tours high price tag and the fact a Segway dealer is coincidentally next door to the CAF, the combination of Segway and Architecture Tour is not a bad idea. It enables more ground to be covered than on foot, but without burning fuel in a car or one of those oh-so-cute but extremely uncomfortable trolleys. Let's hope this inaugural tour brings more with a cheaper fee.
