The next event around my Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture is not a walking tour (though one is happening Saturday, for those interested) but a talk I'll be giving on Thursday evening at the New York Public Library's Mid-Manhattan branch. My last talk at the Skyscraper Museum was catered to that venue, presenting the 50 tallest buildings in the book, so my NYPL will be different. This time I'll be going beyond what my guidebook can present, virtually going inside some projects to reveal what is happening behind some of this century's most striking facades. The map below -- the first slide from the talk -- is a very subtle hint at what I'll present.
The talk is at 6:30pm on the 6th floor of the Mid-Manhattan Library, 455 Fifth Avenue, at 40th Street. My guidebook will be available for purchase and signing. Please say hello (and buy a book!) if you can make it.
