Pop-Up in Real Life

A little while back I showed some work via Tropolism of the Pop-Up Park in New York City by dlandstudio - and recieved an email today from Susannah Drake showing off some pics of the park in action. A refresher, and cool image of the park from the Brooklyn Bridge:

As Tropolism mentioned in their exclusive coverage: "Like a pop-up store, the pop-up park builds brand awareness. Except in this case, it's more like public-space-useability awareness. And nothing says public space awesomeness than the bare bones of what's there now: Lawn, benches, some plants, and a great place to get summer eats. And, refreshingly, it's all low tech, yet modern."

The park's simplicity is aligned with it's ephemeral nature - and it seems to be something odd - imminently usable. The other highlight is the views to the recently opened Waterfalls by Olafur Eliasson, which will get a bit more extensive coverage soon.
